In 1938, Alfred Trauffer began creating wooden animals, carving simple, enjoyable designs. His wife Rosa painted on the details with love and care, bringing each creature to life. Their sons took over the family business in the 70s, and each generation keeps the magic alive, while bringing new ideas and designs to the table. The animal designs have changed over the years, and each Trauffer animal now has smooth sanded edges and lovely designs children and adults alike fall in love with. Each of their products meets the strict European safety standards, and are carved from FSC Swiss wood by a small team of local workers.
